| What are the major advantages of this engine over a standard combustion engine? |
Based on our experience, careful calculations and preliminary testing, we believe the Rotoblock Oscillating Piston Engine has the following advantages:
It is dramatically lighter – up to 50% depending upon specific application
It has significantly increased power to weight ratio
It is simpler – to assemble, to maintain and to repair
It requires no valves and valve train
It is not water cooled
It is adaptable to a wide variety of sizes and uses
It is easier to maintain and repair – can be completely overhauled in an afternoon with
non-specialized hand tools
In addition, because of its rotating intake/output design, the ROTOBLOCK oscillating piston releases significantly reduced emissions into the atmosphere even with regular fuels . |
| What kind of applications are there for this engine? |
| The Oscillating Piston Engine is adaptable to the wide variety of uses currently in place with standard internal combustion engines. |
| How big is the engine? |
| The Oscillating Piston Engine is adaptable to almost limitless sizes from a very small engine as used in lawn mowers or model airplanes to a large engine such as those used in heavy duty equipment. |
| Are there any plans for a diesel
version? |
| No specific plans exist at this time.
We believe that the design and specific characteristics of the
ROTOBLOCK™ engine lends itself very well to the high pressure
diesel combustion process. While the higher mechanical stresses
of a diesel version require special consideration, the scotch
yoke and crankshaft mechanism is lowly stressed in the current
Otto engine configuration. |
| What horsepower range do you expect
from the first production engines? |
| The development engine will serve to
verify efficiency and power projections for the ROTOBLOCK™
production engines. Preliminary calculations show a possible
power output of up to 200kW (atmospherically aspirated) for an
engine of the size of the prototype. |
| What is your stock symbol? |
| Our stock symbol on the NasdaqBB is ROTB. |
| Assuming this technology becomes successful and widely used, what do you anticipate the cost and price of the engine to be? |
| It is a bit early to be sure about market pricing. The final pricing will be determined by the manufacturer of course. We can say at this time, however, that due to the simplicity and versatility of the OPE it will definitely be competitive with other products. |

How and when do you plan to launch this product into the market? |
| It is important that the timing of our launch be kept confidential at this point to ensure maximum market impact. We can tell you though that a specific target market has been chosen and we are looking forward to both launching the product and following up with trade shows in the very near future. |
Do you own the patents for this engine? |
| An initial payment was made to the inventor for the patents on May 31, 2004. An Option Agreement was signed at that time granting Rotoblock the right to purchase the patents underlying the technology at any time on or before 18 or 36 months from the date of the initial payment. |
Why do you think this is the right time to introduce another new engine into the market? |
| New markets are emerging in Asia faster than the demand can be satisfied. And here in North America, both industry and the public are aware of both the looming energy crisis and the need for all industry to become as environmentally progressive as possible. The Oscillating Piston Engine promises to be able to contribute positively in all three areas. Please see our Corporate Brochure for more details. |
How long has Rotoblock Inc. been in business? |
| Management and engineers have over seventy-five years of combined experience in their fields and formed Rotoblock Inc. in 2003 when they purchased the patents for the Oscillating Piston Engine from the inventor, Monti Farrell. |
